Allegation – A statement in which the party proves the evidence concerning their lawsuit.

Arraignment – A decision that the defendant has to make regarding his occurrence in an arraignment. During the arraignment, the defendant has the option to be present with a lawyer or be provided with legal counseling.

Attestation – Similar to being a witness. Someone witnessing an action either by visualizing or written, that another individual is doing.

Civil Case/Civil Suit – This involves people whom rights were abused causing them to suffer financial damage. Your rights can be harmed either by an individual or more than one individual.

Compensatory Damages – A decision made by the court that determines what amount of compensation is to be paid to a person for loss and injury.

Due Process – It provides every person with a fair chance for a trial or hearing. The Constitution protects every person with a chance to prove their case.

Jurisdiction – The court has the power to hear and make a decision on a case.

Litigation – A court case that challenges a legal proceeding.

Negligence – The lack of care given to a person which causes them harm. A person can file lawsuit if tax were paid to support the individual.

Petition – A written request made for the court to apply lawful involvement.

Preliminary Hearing – A decision hearing that determines if the lawsuit should go to trial.

Subpoena (judicial) – A mandatory letter issued to attend court, issued to a witness so that they could testify in case.

Witness – A person who has seen or heard what actions were committed.
